Means of Escape/Emergency
Escape : |
At
ARC, we believe that accessibility
means much more than simply
getting into a building.
It means getting in, using,
and getting out.
Emergency escape exits should
therefore be considered
as being equally important
as access to and within
buildings. Escape strategies
for disabled building users
will, in some cases differ
from those for able-bodied
building users according
to the amount of assistance
they require in order to
exit the building. The safe
and competent evacuation
of disabled employees/visitors
depends to a large extent
upon the creation of bespoke
personal emergency egress
plans (PEEPS). These take
into account the difficulties
the building presents, the
requirements of the disabled
person for assistance, and
the abilities of colleagues
in providing assistance.
Through our ramps and platforms,
we offer a safe, secure
egress option for all building
purposes. Our systems can
be designed to cater for
situations where level access
and egress points are not
possible. Reflective, luminous
strips can be incorporated
to ease way-finding on such
ramps. |
